About this deal

s review captures my experience as well. This is NOT blind buy safe (even though that's what I did) and--though I enjoy many if not all the notes Fragrantica lists here--I personally cannot stand Asad. Even after the fabled and much ballyhooed maceration my nose finds this fragrance more than a little off-putting. Like wearing-half-a-bottle-of-Drakkar-Noir-on-a-sweltering-hot-day or an-overdose-of-Axe-in-a-very-tight-space levels of off-putting. More than once I've questioned if the bottle I have contains the same juice as what others here discuss. This isn't my favourite fragrance. It's not the best thing I've ever put my nose on etc. etc., but what it is is a sweet, decent performing fragrance that is WAAAAAAAY better than it has any right to be for the price. That's what makes it incredible. Asad offers remarkable value, presenting quality that surpasses its price. Yet, a note of caution: this fragrance is a complex composition that may not cater to the novice. Its evolution on the skin is a process to be savored, rewarding the patience of a fragrance aficionado. As such, it may not be the best blind buy — those new to fragrances might instead opt for easily accessible popular mall fragrances like Paco Rabanne's 1 Million. I'm really liking this scent and have already received a compliment at work. Yes, it's office safe as long as you don't overdo it. Is it beige synthetic leather, fresh from the factory and treated with natural saffron and other substances to appear more natural, or is it a natural, sweet organic leather that has unfortunately been pimped out with synthetic apricot extract?

If there is anything that I can fault it on is that there isn't anything dark or heavy in the mix to balance it out but that could just be me. It is a saffron fragrance. Saffron in different facets. Real saffron is very delicate, expensive, exhausting to harvest and hardly smells intense enough to be mass produced as a perfume base. It is an attempt to mimic the effect of saffron. This fragrance opens up with a pretty synthetic scent for the first few seconds and then transitions into a near perfect pineapple. The dry down starts to become a little more smoky but stays true to that opening pineapple.According to the general consensus, this is supposed to be a clone of Dior Sauvage Elixir. I haven’t smelt Sauvage elixir, though, so I’ll review this one as its own thing.

all ages except the elderly or pregnant women, for whom the scent might be perceived as a little too chemical. Great sharing ‘lad/ladette/non-binary’ Ibiza/Mykonos/Gran Canaria clubbing type holiday scent… smells expensive so date night friendly too… great GOTH scent as well…. So literally anyone… if you like spice you’ll like this. Nice box, Heavy ‘Meh’ bottle.

Asad announces its presence with unapologetic sillage, capable of making a statement in any setting. However, it isn't all about strength. The dry-down is where Asad truly sings — a blend of amber and vanilla rounds out the experience, softening the earlier intensity into a creamy, sophisticated finish that lingers pleasantly.

Longevity and projection seem to be increasing with maturation. Two spays on my arm before bed time and it's on me 8-10 hours later. sapeur1999 I think the majority here, on social media, and on YouTube all agreed that Dior Sauvage elixir is more refined, has unbelievable performance (though not necessarily needed) and Asad isn't completely an identical scent (could be better)... many seem to prefer Asad due to its balanced combination of decent quality, good performance, and affordable pricing... It's quite clear down in the comments! There's a smokiness to it that you find in a lot of masculine fruit scent profiles. I wouldn't wear this in the winter, it'd be annoying. I'm envisioning the wet, rainy version of this scent and it's not good. I think this could be nauseating in the summer. Probably a spring time scent but your mileage may vary.

This doesn't really smell like pineapple. It starts with a mixture of a sweet artificial pineapple imitation (not the real thing at all!), some synthetic oud, and a standard ingredient in designer perfumes that I've smelled a thousand times and always reminds me of melon/cucumber. I suppose the latter is what people might identify as saffron. The base has a powdery and spicy vanilla undertone, not sweet or gourmand. A warm amber serves to create a sense of cosiness. The initial burst of balmy skin undertones transforms into a tamed powdery skin. No talcum powder from iris or violet leaves, but a coumarin dustiness. The oud is now just a memory that slowly fades away. Overspray the shit out of this if you’re brave enough to buy it and not stand the burned plastic smell that stays for 2-3 minutes. There are several Lattafa fragrances which are 1) highly regarded; but 2) not much cared for by me. Khamrah comes to mind immediately. However, the difference between Khamrah and Asad is that I can see *why* Khamrah has the rep and following it does; it might not be my kind of scent profile*, but damn, does Lattafa do a great job with it. I've smelled more than enough fragrances to appreciate the good ones even when they don't mesh with my tastes. Asad, though? Sorry guys, I've tried and tried but I can't get with it. Perhaps my bottle got baked in transit, I don't know. I bring this up because Qaed Al Fursan smells exactly like what you get when you do that: sweet, delicious, slightly smokey pineapple, with just a hint of resin/woods. It's also not going to appeal to everyone, but if you DO like pineapple, it's a great way to experience the essence of one (QAF and grilling a pineapple both are, as far as that goes - but to be clear, I'm talking about the fragrance here).
