About this deal

No faults with the leash, it’s coiled which is perfect for flat water cruising and it’s comfortable enough. Final comments Pump Guidance: Dual and single action high-pressure feature. Use dual action first and switch to single action when the board is hard. The X100 is a good compromise between a beginner-friendly wide width and a narrower nose, which allows you to reach a decent speed when you get going. Rounder noses usually offer better manoeuvrability, but this board didn't feel tough to turn – it's easy to start out on but will also still be great fun as you progress. On top of the board, tactile rubber panels offer good grip if you're standing up and are comfy to kneel on, and I liked the added indentations where your feet go, so that you can feel where to place them when you transition to standing without having to look down. Bungee cords at the top of the board help to secure a dry bag to the board. Single-layer isn’t all bad, it means the board is really lightweight and rolls up to a compact size, making it super portable and easy to carry. However, a single layer is of course not as durable as a doubled lined or reinforced board. It also means the board can’t inflate to a high PSI, which does affect its overall stiffness and performance on the water. I’ve inflated and used the Wave Tourer a few times now without any issues, but it’s very different using it a handful of times compared to a few seasons. With the construction and overall price, you wouldn’t expect it to last as long as more expensive brands, but I could be wrong. I’d love to hear from anyone who has used the board for a few years because if it does last, this board becomes almost unbeatable for value. Along with the overall quality, the Wave Tourer has really impressed me in terms of how it looks. The colour options, subtle graphics and matching paddle design makes the Wave Tourer look classy. I feel proud walking to the water with this board under my arm – Even the bright orange one! 10ft/11ft Wave Tourer specs: The Wave Tourer was tested in March in Chichester Harbour. The wind was around 10 – 12 knots cross-onshore, so it was relatively choppy but we found some flat spots too. Stability Why on Earth beginner inflatable paddleboards have a thruster type tri-fin setup is beyond me. This is a surf-style fin configuration for conditions these paddleboards will never go in. Plus it probably costs more money to manufacture and is more likely to go wrong.

The pump was really easy to use and is plug and play straight out the box. The pump is a single-cylinder but duel action, so it inflates the board as you pull up on the pump, as well as when pushing it down.

In T3's Surfstar 10'6" Advance Star inflatable stand up paddleboard review, the reviewer rated this similarly priced board extremely highly, so that's well worth a look to start with. Aquaplanet's MAX Sup is another entry-level design that offers good value for money when it comes to quality, and at 10'6 it's a generous size that will give beginners confidence. Its cheerful rainbow design is just as distinctive as the Woody's looks, too. Fancy something nimbler? The NKX Flash is smaller, lighter and faster, and will suit intermediate SUP-ers heading into the sea to try out small waves. Although this board is called the ‘Tourer’, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who wants to do long-distance touring. Those who go paddleboarding often and with more experience will find this board a little basic. verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ Coiled Ankle Leash – designed for board safety, the 360° pivot swivel, anti-tangle, bungee coiled leash comes with a padded ankle strap for comfort. What mostly gives a board stability is its width. The wider the board, the more stable it is. Beginners want a board that feels secure underfoot, which helps with confidence in the early stages of starting this sport. However, a board that is too wide will stunt progression, feel sluggish and be less manoeuvrable.

Getting out on the water is great fun, but it isn't without its dangers. Make sure you have the knowledge to minimize the risks - Follow the link HERE for the latest safety advice from the RNLI. Wave paddle boards come in a range of sizes to ensure optimal balance and performance across multiple water conditions. Sizes include 259cm (8 ft 6 inches), 76 cm / 30 inches wide (10ft board) and 84 cm / 33 inches wide (11ft board). For anyone over 6ft or 70kg / 154lbs + we suggest going for the 11ft iSUP for increased stability. Aluminium Telescopic Paddle - high quality, colour coordinated paddle, fully adjustable to suit your height, adjust the length from 80 to 213 cm (31 to 84 inches) The height adjusting clip was a little loose on mine, which meant the handle would spin around by itself. So before you head out, make sure this is tightened up. Our iSUP collections here at Wave are split into 5 key categories, covering beginners, kids and surfers, family friendly all-rounders, intermediate skill level boards and our Pro range of professional performance paddleboards.

SUPERIOR COMFORT AND SUPPORT I've used the X100 about six times, and so far it's been pleasingly robust. A few other reviewers have reported eventual leaks, although there is an included repair patch if this does happen, and I think with good care this board should last for a few summers of adventures.
