About this deal

The times where he contemplates the what ifs in life are among the most heartbreaking. He’s been forced into a situation where he must be the father, rather than the brother, to his siblings and he constantly reflects on the decisions he makes, hoping that when the time comes for his babies to leave, they won’t resent him in the end. But how could I think that? Cassandra Clare has only ever impressed me, only ever made me fall in love with her world. How could I doubt that?

I mean all of the romantic angst between these two is established by the fact that they are parabatai---magic bound warrior partners with a bond which is supposedly unbreakable---and for some odd and unknown reason two parabatai aren't supposed to feel romantic love toward each other! In the very end, I hope you guys are as offended by my poor poem-writing-skill as I'm offended by Clare's stupid Poe's quotes.

Diana Wrayburn - genuinely one of my favorite characters from this series and i have NO IDEA why she’s so slept on. i mean, it’s not like anyone hates her, but i would like you all to be screaming about Diana for 40 hours per week as i do? this is a full-time Diana love zone. i love my canonically trans wife The final cover was revealed at the New York Comic-Con in October 2015, by Cassandra Clare and Harry Shum Jr..

I felt that there was less world-building overall for the Shadow World, but that’s not to say that the world building in this novel wasn’t fantastic as can be expected from Cassandra Clare. The politics of the Clave and the Downworld, the role of the Shadowhunter and the world that they live in have been brilliantly described over the course of the novels that Cassie has written. It is for this reason that I feel that while it is not necessary to read the Infernal Devices or the Mortal Instruments before reading the Dark Artifices, I would highly recommend it. You won’t necessarily understand the history or the events that led up to Lady Midnight as well as you could. There are also spoilers from the previous series and character cameos that you won’t appreciate as much unless you read the previous series. Que no lo es, porque como he comentado más arriba, hay muchas subtramas, y es lo que hace que Lady Midnight tenga un valor añadido. my favorite part of LADY MIDNIGHT is not the intricately thought out plot – which is very intricate and very fantastic – but the depth of our cast. i remember reading THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS and finding everyone a bit flat or "too perfect." clary and jace (from TMI) were both born to be legends and, to me, they were cutouts of The Chosen One. our main characters in LM, emma and julian, aren't naturally "special" but work to where they're at. i could easily connect with them because they're just regular people, erm, shadowhunters, who are trying to make the most out of what's come out of the war. and it's not only our two leads who i adore; EVERYONE is incredibly fleshed out and unique. clare made it so easy for me to connect with all of them, which led me to feel ALL THE FEELZ. i also love how there are many diverse characters and aspects, but they weren't the main focus; it's there and it's important but it's not flung in your face.Lady Midnight is truly a book all about forbidden love. It is filled with angst, heartbreak, and pain. But it is so expertly done, that you’ll ask for more and say please while doing so. Cassandra Clare is just perfecting her writing, her stories, her characters, her plot twists, and her diversity with every single book. This book honestly blew me away. Also, yes, you need to read all eleven books leading up to his one, truly. Words can't even describe how much hype surrounded this book. But you know what... Lady Midnight was so much better than I ever would have comprehended. Lady Midnight was not just great. It was not just amazing. It was not just fantastic. There were absolutely NO WORDS to describe the masterpiece that this book was. Every word, every sentence, every punctuation had me hooked to the very core to the point where putting this book down was torture. Barnes & Noble edition: Banes & Noble copies additionally include Cassandra Clare's guide to Emma's Los Angeles, a written piece similar to the one in The Infernal Devices about Tessa's London.

As to Julian, oh boy he is even more boring than Emma, although to be fair the guy has a bit more common sense and sense of responsibility in him than Emma, and as far as character's trait goes, he likes to paint and draw---still it just isn't enough to hook me with this character. I mean, am I really supposed to be invested with a character only because he is hot, he is into art and he has a sensitive soul?

Essentially, the story concerns the mystery of how Emma’s parents died, and if and how they may be related to the string of murders that have just occurred. That is the ostensible side of the story, anyway. But a great deal of the tale is devoted to Emma, and her *parabatai*, Julian.
