There are three levels of sensitivity with the audio on and 3 with the audio off (vibrate only), plus pairing with the detector. I decided that it was something to do with the state of MI6 battery charge or, more likely, EMI 'tripping up' the signals used to do the 'handshake' between the two bit of gear. Sometimes I get through a whole day and it's flawless - other times I end up having to go onto Prog.

I like having a rechargeable battery, although it has a unique plug, the end cap needs to be removed to recharge, and is VERY hard to unthread sometimes. And some MI-6 users complain that the MI-6 produces a recurring sound, like beeping, which would not stop even after a user pulls the MI-6 away from the target. After I spent some time trying to follow the instructions on how to switch the LED and VIBRATION off to increase the battery life, and failed to do so a few times, I realized that this was a little bit too much for me.

Unlike any traditional pinpointer, in my opinion, both MI-6 and MI-4 have a power button on the wrong side. And to get it to work, the unhappy campers have to reboot the MI-6 a few times, or completely remove it from the system and re-pair. What we love: "Great quality, great audio, waterproof to 6 meters packed with lots of features, designed for use with the XP DEUS, AND DEUS II! While it serves as a standalone pinpointer for any detectorist, it goes above and beyond with its advanced features, including wireless connectivity. I have issue with the on/off button too, it seems to me it would be easier to use if the button were on the other side. There’s nothing out there with this technology if you have an XP Deus or an ORX this is the only way to go. Nothing to say about me possibly changing the sensitivity level which can be adjusted by quick-pressing the button, and not knowing it.But, of course, the MI-6 wireless connection to the Deus is a great feature for those having their hearing impaired, or not hearing the pinpointer signals through the ear-cup headphones, or pinpointing underwater targets in shallow surf. It looks like for stand alone use there are 3 volume levels, but the manual itself does not mention that.
