About this deal

Everyone is different and everyone has slightly different preferences when it comes to how they like their coffee to taste. The Melitta Caffeo Solo has you all covered, with its range of customisation options. Bean Grinding For those that don’t fancy mastering the art of milk frothing, then the best option for you will be the “& Perfect Milk” model. This comes with the companies “cappuccinatore” or milk foaming system. So, if you happen to come across a Melitta Caffeo Solo at a good price in a factory outlet, for example, it’s just as good today as when it first launched. Just keep in perspective that the Melitta Purista really does deliver better results. Though I’m sure we’ll be saying similar things about the Purista’ss successor when it hits the market as well.

You’ll need to follow the instructions in the manual to set the water hardness level of your machine, using the provided test strip: this changes the reminder time between descaling. Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk – Espresso quality There is also Melitta’s aroma extraction system, which pre wets the beans with a little water prior to the full extraction. Melitta Caffeo Solo е изработен от висококачествени материали, които се обгърнати в най-елегантната и футуристична технология Melitta. С ширина от само 20 см, този кафеавтомат пасва идеална дори в тесни пространства. The ‘Perfect’ stands for an automatic cappuccinatore, which has been added for those wanting to froth milk. While, technically, there’s nothing wrong with an addition like this, it does drive the price up and ruin the Melitta Caffeo Solo’s unique niche as a milk-free espresso machine.Previous experience: Have you ever owned any Coffee machines? Think about your experience of the product and how good it was. What brand was it? How much was it? What was it made from? All of these can help you when considering your options. This is dependent on the model you choose, if you don’t mind manually frothing the milk, then the Caffeo Solo & milk is as good as any other machine available. So lets get to it, and delve a little deeper and see what you actually get if you invest in one of these machines. I will be reviewing all three coffee machines in one go. The espresso part is the same in each, and when I talk about the milk based drinks I will make it clear which option I am referring to. Don’t worry it won’t be complicated. To make sure everything is clear, the display uses bean symbols and scales that even complete beginners could understand. Even though the size of the display is fine for most, some of you might want to fetch your readers first thing in the morning. The Scope of Delivery, Spout Height & Bean Hopper Whilst this is a lot simpler than doing it yourself, I personally think the quality of foam it makes is not as good as what even a novice barista could achieve. Milk Drinks verdict

Still, we have to look at the Solo next to its successor, the Melitta Purista, which is why I believe this Melitta Caffeo Solo review deserves a proper update! Product guarantees Melitta's conscious environment conduct. Read more: https://www.international.melitta.de/ecocare_en.html

Contemporary energy efficiency

There’s a single dial to adjust coffee volume, which goes from 30ml to 120ml. Unfortunately, the dial isn’t marked in millilitres, so getting the right amount of coffee involves a degree of trial and error. Dispensing coffee is managed by hitting the coffee cup button, with a double-press dispensing two drinks. You can adjust coffee strength, too, with three settings available. The simple control panel on the front uses basic icons to show you the options you’ve selected. The spout on the front can dispense two coffees, sliding up and down to accommodate cups of up to 135mm tall. This should see it happily accommodate most tall latté glasses. Brand: Some brands are known for delivering amazing quality products, it’s a case of trying to find the Rolex equivalent for Coffee machines, but at a realistic and reasonable price. I did find it somewhat annoying to have to constantly empty, fill and clean the machine, even if it’s only designed for one person — max two — to use. If you drink a lot of coffee, you may be miffed by this as well. The Melitta Caffeo Solo: It’s Not Just the User Manual That’s Easy Maintenance is a bit of a pain with this machine. For example, the Cappuccinatore doesn’t have an automatic cleaning mode. Instead, you need to remove it and wash it manually. With it removed, it’s worth running a bit of steam through the machine just to give it a clean out. The Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk does at least rinse itself on power-up and shut down, which is nice.

Generally speaking, an Americano is always a better idea with a fully automatic coffee machine as an extended espresso. However, you would then have to use an external kettle to get your hot water because, understandably, there’s no hot water nozzle on the Solo. Upon activating the 0 watt switch, the Melitta SOLO ®disconnects from the mains. And of course, your personal settings are kept. This on/off feature is also programmable and the appliance can be set to disconnect from the mains at the desired time automatically. Although the Solo can only make coffee and espresso, you can easily make all of the necessary settings adjustments. With the Melitta Caffeo Solo, everything comes in threes: three grind settings, three coffee strengths and three temperature settings. For the best results, heat the Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk up to steam temperature first. Then, before you put the cup under the Cappuccinatore or put the hose into your milk, turn the machine on for a few seconds. This expels any water in the system until you have pure steam.

The Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk doesn’t ship with a water filter, although you can fit one into the water tank – I recommend it, since it will make the coffee taste better and reduce limescale build-up in the machine. Here we’re going to look at the prices you can expect to pay for products from the Coffee machines category. we’re opted to use Currys PC World for this comparison, as they offered the most competitive prices for MELITTA Caffeo Solo E950-103 Bean to Cup Coffee Machine.

Like any good quality bean to cup coffee machine, the Caffeo Solo comes with an integrated stainless steel burr grinder. However unlike other machines you only have 3 options when it comes to deciding how fine or coarse you would like your beans ground. Most machines offer 13-18 different grind settings. The spout height is fairly standard at a maximum of 13.5 centimetres (5.31 inches). No need to worry, though, practically all of your cups will fit under the coffee nozzles without a problem. On top is the bean hopper, which accepts a standard 250g bag of beans. Open up the side and you can access the grinder setting to make it coarser or finer, depending on how you like your coffee to taste. We will dispatch the machine and coffee within 1-3 days with overnight courier (Interlink Express). This model doesn’t have a ground coffee chute, although this isn’t a huge problem: you’re far better off buying whole beans (see How to choose the best coffee beans) and letting the Melitta Caffeo Solo & Perfect Milk take care of grinding.

Companion® App

Let’s move on to one of the elephants in the room: the question of whether this light version of a fully automatic coffee machine can deliver excellent espresso in your cup? If it doesn’t, this category of machine makes no sense at all. That said, the Solo’s variations of 87, 90 and 93 degrees Celsius (187, 194 and 199 degrees Fahrenheit) for coffee and espresso are completely ridiculous anyway. This issue has been corrected in the Purista, in my opinion. I find that the Purista’s coffees are even a tad bit hotter and have fuller body. It’s a company that believes in functionality and innovation, and one that actually invented the coffee filter. Times have changed, and today’s consumers want a fresh and authentic ground coffee taste as opposed to the instant coffee within seconds. Flavour is king, and whilst the Melitta Solo (previously known as Caffeo Solo) certainly won’t disappoint on that count, it also won’t keep you waiting when you want your next cup of delicious coffee.
