About this deal

At the moment of writing is this really the goto access point from Ubiquiti for outdoor installation. The advantage of the UniFi Mesh models is that they have antennas that are designed for long-range mesh performance. Making them great to cover large outdoor areas. Keep in mind that wired is always better, but that is outdoors not always an option. I already owned an Unifi US-8-150w POE switch with the Network Controller hosted on raspberry pi. Recently was given a new Unifi UAP-AC Lite (not the new wifi 6 version), which specs show on 5ghz can do up to 850mb/s, so decided to switch to using it and decommission the Netgear router. Airtime Fairness: Minimises problem-client effects on system performance by limiting their airtime access You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

Powerful Hardware- Features the latest in WiFi 802.11AC MIMO technology with WiFi speeds up to 1750Mbps (450Mbps + 1300Mbps)These models are normally not needed in a normal home network or small/medium office. The access points are designed for a specific purpose, for example, to handle a high amount of concurrent users or to cover a large area. At the moment of writing, you can buy almost 20 different access points from Ubiquiti. There are also 3 new models available in the early access store. That is a lot to choose from, so we are going to divide the different models into groups. In this setup the wifi from the Netgear router gets 800-930mb/s, while the UAP-AC Lite will get absolutely NO more than 95mb/s. Actually, it is almost like QOS is setup as it is consistently at 90-95mb/s.

We have, for example, the UniFi NanoHD, Lite, Long Range, Flex HD, and now even Wifi 6 devices. All great products, but which one do you need for your home or office network? Google Maps Integration - Upload your own custom coverage maps or configure your map using the built-in Google Maps API. In the early access store, we can also find the new Unifi 6 Mesh, which has the same design as the FlexHD and is likely going to replace the FlexHD in the near future. Read more about it in the outdoor section. UniFi In-Wall HD – UAP-IW-HDThe UniFi Controller v4 software is a powerful, enterprise wireless software engine ideal for high-density client deployments requiring low latency and high uptime performance. With its software-based capabilities, the UniFi virtual control plane allows for unlimited scalability under one centralized controller. Remotely access the UniFi Controller to upgrade deployed UniFi APs while in the field. Dedicated hardware offload for QoS, Guest Control, and client management ensures high throughput and reduced latency. Unifi SDH – UAP-AC-SHD Boasting a weather resistent design, the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-PRO Access Point can be deployed indoors or outdoors, in wireless networks requiring maximum performance. The UniFi AC Pro can be powered using 802.3af PoE from a Ubiquiti UniFi switch or another 3rd party enterprise switch, or using the included PoE injector. Optimal Performance

This Gigabit Ethernet port is used to connect the power and should be connected to the LAN and DHCP server. At the moment of writing is the 6 Mesh still in early access. With a similar design as the FlexHD and given the name, I think the Unifi 6 Mesh is going to replace the FlexHD and Unifi Mesh in the near future. U6-LR is a high-performance Access Point leveraging advanced WiFi 6 technology to provide powerful wireless coverage to enterprise environments. If 1000 concurrent clients are not enough then we have the UniFi XG as the last step. This access point is designed for very high-density environments, think of concert halls or large auditoriums, where you have a lot of people in a really small space. L3 Manageability - With L3 manageability, the UniFi Controller software can be run on a different subnet than the UniFi APs it manages, allowing 'no-touch' AP provisioningRegional regulations must be observed when deploying radio equipment. More info Power Input Power Consumption The UniFi HD is designed for high-density environments, like a school or concert venue. The UniFi HD has two ethernet ports, where 1 port can be used to bridge to another access point or as an extra uplink.

This is the secure version of the Unifi HD. The main difference between the two is that the SHD is designed for secure areas, like hospitals and banks. The SHD is designed with a dedicated dual-band radio to constantly monitor and protect the wireless network traffic. Well crap...sometimes we miss the things in our faces. 1) the light where the AP is connected to indicates the link speed - it is double amber (POE & 100mbps). 2) in the unifi controller under the AP is the Uplink Wired section, which confirms the negotiated speed is FE (100mbps).The first access point that we are going to take a closer look at in this UniFi AP comparison is the UniFi 6 Lite access point is the entry model of the UniFi Access Points. Its compact design allows you to easily mount it and with custom skins, you can make it fit in with the rest of your house. The new Wifi 6 models don’t come with a PoE Injector, so you will need to buy a PoE switch to power the access point, like the US-8-60W. Best is to place your access points on the ceiling or high on a wall if the ceiling isn’t possible. If both really are not an option for you, then the FlexHD might be a good solution. Keep in mind that furniture between the user and access point also limits the signal strength. Power Method: Passive Power over Ethernet (48V), 802.3af/802.3at Supported (Supported Voltage Range: 44 to 57VDC) Simultaneous, dual-band, 3×3 MIMO technology, 802.11ac dual-band access point, capable of speeds of up to 1750 Mbps. The quoted wireless specification is given as the maximum radio performance. Achievable range and throughput will vary depending on the regional regulations where the radio is deployed.
