About this deal

It's a high quality car seat that feels built to last until the full 75cm and is perfect right from a tiny newborn with the baby-hugg inlay, to an older baby. We love that the harness is so easy to adjust as your child grows and the stay open straps help when getting your child in the seat. Despite the “decorative and non-operational” (to quote Logitech) tweeters, the system produces a nicely balanced and detailed sound that should suit most circumstances. The subwoofer emits a really meaty thump, too, when turned up. The total RMS power output is quoted at 2 x 8W and 1 x 24W with a peak system power of 80W, which means there is more than enough volume to fill your average home office or bedroom. One of the cords you'll need to worry about is USB, which is needed for power. You can obviously plug it into your PC, but a nearby USB port on a power bar served the same purpose. The cables are quite long, and we tried to maintain their bundled state (out of the box) as much as possible. At Mother & Baby, we were assisted with help from our Mother & Baby Testers to review the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus & 2wayfix base. During the testing process, we were testing for its overall performance, usability and build. Here's what our testers had to say about the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus. On the plus side, you'll be able to keep using the base if you decide to buy the Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl – a Group 1 car seat you can use from 9 months old until your child is 105cm or weighs 18kg (around 4 years old).

There’s also no denying that the Companion 2’s do generate a very agreeable and usefully loud sound. Bose never gives RMS power outputs for its speakers but I measured peaks of 87dB at 1m distance. The soundstage is very wide and detailed and there’s much more bass than you’d expect from a system this small, although not much more than you get from cheaper rival systems like the Creative T60. When using the Isofix base, there is light and sound confirmation when you've installed the seat correctly. Some might find this annoying, but we loved knowing the seat was secure. Our PC speaker testing involves assessing audio performance levels across the full range of a particular product’s connections. For most PC speakers, this sees us viewing and listening to content via a USB-C or 3.5mm analogue connection, though we’ll also test out how the speaker sounds when streaming over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections where supported. The three-point harness is sturdy and easy to use. The seat is made with impact-absorbing material designed for added protection in the event of side impact collision.

Advice & Inspiration

Isofix base can be used with the Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl (Group 1 car seat approx. 9 month – 4 years old) The good news is that there are no dealbreakers with the Pebble Plus for anyone. These speakers are tremendous. But there are still a few points you might find an issue with. The baby-hug inlay looked and felt supremely comfortable, and the top side wings make a cosy headrest. It's worth knowing that the insert makes the seat very warm, which is something to watch out for on hot summer days. The straps are snug and tighten well; even our tester's mini escapologist couldn't wriggle out! Are the materials machine washable? The 60-watt Class D amplifier delivers 30 watts to each speaker, and this pushes the 4.5in woofer and 0.75in tweeter to surprisingly high volumes. Sound quality is good too, with enough bass to give music a decent amount of weight, and a high-end that reveals detail in everything from Zoom calls to delicate classical works. Speakers with Bluetooth aptX technology avoid most of the sound-quality compromises that can mar the audio quality of lesser Bluetooth speakers. However, some high-end speakers also offer Wi-Fi connectivity, which uses your Wi-Fi network to deliver improved wireless sound quality. This often goes hand in hand with the option of linking multiple speakers together as part of a multiroom speaker system.

The sound quality is excellent, with plenty of detail and a massive amount of bass if you turn the subwoofer up to 11. The S351DB is perhaps more at home with music and video sources than gaming because the system is tuned for warmth and balance rather than staccato detail but that subwoofer certainly gives gaming sound effects some serious impact. Probably the biggest difference in the regulations, is that i-Size car seats are chosen on your child's length rather than their weight. This reduces the risk of putting children into the next stage car seat before they are ready. The Pebble Plus can be used until your child is 75cm long, which will be approximately 12kg. Alert lights and safety sounds: The safety function alerts the user as to whether or not the seat is clipped into the ISOFIX fixing points correctly. One major benefit of the Pebble Plus is how easy it is to install. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow when using a seat belt or the Isofix base. The sound quality delivered by monitors and laptops tends to be pretty disappointing and PC speakers are the simplest way to upgrade your audio without the need for large amplifiers or lots of connection cables. Its compact design helps it fit seamlessly under most monitors, while intuitive controls, including a handy volume wheel, make it a user-friendly option to plug in and enjoy right away. The only connectivity you might miss is an AUX-in but as an alternative to traditional PC speakers, the Stage SE does so much else right at extremely low cost that its absence is easy enough to forgive.
