About this deal

Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter will be available from LEGO.com, your local LEGO store and most toy stores from 1 August 2023. Still, prequel fans might find something to like here, especially if you don’t already have the 2017 set or a modern Yoda minifigure. At first glance, not much has changed on the model since its 2017 variant, but a closer look does reveal some upgrades. That isn’t the fault of the designers, but I do think the source material does not translate well to the LEGO medium. Sadly though, LEGO continues to struggle when printing the dome properly, as the dark blue band around Artoo's head is obviously askew. R2-D2 needs no accessories, but Yoda comes equipped with his green lightsaber, as ever. A 3L blade would probably be more appropriate for the Jedi Master, so I wonder whether that has been considered.

Keepability [2] – Fans of Yoda and Star Wars completists might find something to like here, but otherwise its appeal is unfortunately quite limited. Why is “Surprising choice of subject” regarded as a negative? Shouldn’t that be a *positive*, if it’s listed at all?"As well as exploring the origins of many beloved and feared characters from the original Star Wars films, the Clone Wars also expanded on the prequel trilogy and became the source of some amazing Star Wars stories. The Clone Wars also help seed the rise of the Empire from the remains of the Republic. Many of the ships found in the original trilogy have variations used in the Clone Wars. That’s certainly the case with Yoda’s personal Starfighter. It was first featured in the Season 6 Clone Wars episode, Voices, in which Yoda is told to visit Dagobah by the fallen Jedi, Qui-Gon. The ship is a specially modified version of the Jedi Starfighter. Which later become the basis for a TIE Interceptor. As with the 2017 set, there are two minifigures featured in this new set. They include Master Yoda and the trusty droid Artoo. Although both characters have appeared in many other sets, those featured in this set are the most updated versions of both. Artoo was recently given a better print design, with detailing now on the rear of the droid’s body. Yoda also features a unique torso, which is less detailed compared to the robes he wears in original trilogy-inspired sets.

Putting the ship into flight mode allows you to see the inner grey wings. These don’t have much detail but are mounted at an angle, thanks to some hinge plates. It could also be good for a LEGO starfighter collector’s lineup, but other than that, I do have some trouble recommending this set. It’s not all bad – it is quite fun to swoosh around – but at its price and considering the competition, I think there are better sets out there. While renowned pilots like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker have had their own iconic starfighter battles in Revenge of the Sith, the wizened old Grand Master Yoda might not strike most fans as the type to pilot his own starfighter. Nonetheless, Yoda did fly a Jedi Interceptor-like craft on his mission to learn more about the Force during three episodes of The Clone Wars, inspiring two LEGO sets based on this ship.

Build [3] – A valiant effort considering the unusual shaping of the source material, but ultimately falls short.

Perhaps LEGO should have included a small Technic display stand, which is becoming an increasingly common appearance in sets nowadays. With its wings splayed out, the ship has a slightly more aggressive look, akin to that of a TIE Interceptor. Do note the stand in the above photo is not actually included. Others have mentioned Ahsoka's starfighter and her Eta-2 would have been ideal. After all, Ahsoka is a focal character this year, so releasing the interceptor from the beginning of the arc which essentially defines her character would be perfect." Innovation [2] – In many aspects, this is just the 2017 Yoda’s Starfighter set rereleased with some decent upgrades, but nothing significant. More manuals of Lego Frequently Asked Questions about Lego set 75168 Star Wars Yodas Jedi starfighterTo be honest, I’m not sure why LEGO decided to revisit Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter in 2023. The model is a decent update from the 2017 version, but not a lot has fundamentally changed to warrant a new version of a pretty obscure craft. is the 20th Anniversary of The Clone Wars, which has done a lot in terms of transforming Star Wars fans to prequel trilogy fans. To commemorate this milestone, LEGO has released several Clone Wars-themed sets this year, one of which is 75360 Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter.

Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter will be available from LEGO.com from 1 August 2023, alongside the other August 2023 LEGO Star Wars wave. And here’s a look at the previous version of LEGO Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter, which was released in 2017. Completed Model

Frequently Asked Questions about Lego set 75168 Star Wars Yodas Jedi starfighter

I mean, I’d like that *too*, but I don’t see that releasing Yoda’s is somehow bad or wrong. Why not both?" In some cases, yes, but I think Yoda's starfighter was a negatively surprising choice. Much though I love the arc from which it originates, I would have preferred essentially any other Jedi starfighter over this one and I think many people agree, in all age groups. The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Minifigures Yoda is not necessarily a character one associates with starfighters, but when the Jedi Grand Master embarks upon solo missions, he pilots a specialised fighter. While clearly similar to the normal Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor in certain respects, this starfighter's proportions are unique and have been translated quite effectively in LEGO form, on the whole. Two minifigures are included – a bit low for this price point – and they are Yoda and R2-D2. Yoda is unchanged since this minifigure first appeared in 2013, but has a nice rubber head element and decent torso printing.
