About this deal

Carbon Steel is a high carbon steel. The number 1060 refers to a material made of an alloy of Iron with a Carbon tenor of about 0.60%. Other elements can be found mixed to this alloy, but their tenors are not very significant. 1060 Carbon Steel Is harder than 1045 Carbon Steel; this property makes this steel harder to forge. The high Caron tenor makes the 1060 Steel more durable, but it is not high enough to compromise its pliability. The swords made of 1060 Carbon Steel keep their edges sharp longer and they are more expensive. It is the favorite steel material of famous swords companies. While traditional masters like Masamune have their immortal place in history, modern masters are carving out their own legacy. These individuals are not only skilled in the art of sword making but are also savvy entrepreneurs who understand how to position themselves in a global market. Katana Parts: Anatomy of a Katana

Carbon Steel Katanas have the medium rank between 1045 and 1095 Carbon Steel Katanas. It appears that they are appreciated for their durability, their hardness and for their affordable price if compared to properties. The easiness of forging reduces dramatically the price of the 11060 swords and makes them very popular. Because we recognize that purchasing a katana may be a big commitment, we provide a broad variety of pricing to accommodate all spending levels. You may select a sword to suit your demands and budget whether you're a novice or an experienced collector. Handle: The handle is made of high-quality hardwood and is wrapped in white ray-skin, which provides a comfortable and firm grip. The blue cord wrappings add a decorative touch to the handle, while also improving its grip.

The epitome of traditional katana craftsmanship lies in the use of Tamahagane steel. This is a specialized Japanese steel resulting from a laborious smelting process that yields layered steels with varying carbon concentrations. The method helps remove impurities and levels out the carbon content, contributing to the blade's strength and resilience. The age of the steel plays a role, too. Older steel, with higher oxygen concentrations, tends to result in a stronger blade due to its ease of being stretched and purified during hammering.

Sword Stands: One of the most popular and traditional methods of displaying a Katana is using a sword stand. These stands come in various designs and materials, such as wood or metal, and can hold one or multiple swords. Depending on the stand's design, you can display your Katana horizontally or vertically, with the blade edge facing up to protect the blade and maintain its sharpness. In addition to swords, we also provide numerous sword accessories including stands, maintenance kits, and carrying cases. Traditional Japanese swords we carry include the wakizashi and tanto. As we move further into the 21st century, the Gendaitō era continues to shape how we perceive and use katanas. Its influence is likely to remain pivotal, setting the benchmark for any future developments in katana crafting. Katana types

What is a katana

Tip (Kissaki) : You could choose different size style of kissaki, big (O-kissaki ), middle (Chu-kissaki) Or small (Ko-kissaki), or a short one (Ikubi Kissaki), curve one (Ikari Kissaki), or a straight one (Kamasu Kissaki) As for a practice weapon, this sword is fantastic. As another review stated this sword is so light balance is a non issue and as such makes it a perfect practice weapon for learning new techniques. Retail Store Displays: In stores selling related merchandise, the Decorative Katana can be an attention-grabbing display piece. Full tang 28.5" carbon steel - expertly hand forged by seasoned sword-smiths using advanced techniques honed over centuries

Blood Groove (Bo-hi): Beside our standard bohi, you can also custom bo-hi for your blade, common types like double bohi, unokubi zukuri, shinogi zukuri are available. Blade Material: Other than modern steel, we can also forge your katana with traditional steel like Kobuse steel, Honsanmai steel, shihozume steel etc. Museums: Perfect for historical or art museums aiming to showcase the evolution of weaponry or Japanese artistry. Gift for Enthusiasts: An ideal present for martial arts enthusiasts, history buffs, or collectors of unique art pieces. All the swords in the blue katana collection were individually handmade by skilled swordsmiths. Every sword in the collection is unusual and has its own special characteristics. The spectrum of blue katanas ranges from the traditional long swords, ideal for display and ceremonial purposes, to the more practical short swords, preferred in martial arts for their ease of handling. Every version of these katanas, be it crafted for battle or as a collector's treasure, highlights a distinct facet of sword-making expertise, ranging from the meticulous forging of the blade to the elaborate embellishments that grace each piece. The handle is held together in many ways with what i assume to be hot glue and as such was quite difficult to remove, however once I handled the glue , it it became much easier to remove and replace the tsuba and caps, as such it will work wonderfully for my cosplay weapon of choice. I personally plan to replace the synthetic same with a leather wrap and replace the ito wrap with a higher quality cloth wrap just to rid myself of the rougher than usual texture. In the timeline of Japanese sword history, Jōkotō occupies the initial period, ending around 900 AD. These swords are considered the foundation upon which the later, more refined katanas were built. It was during this era that the essential philosophies regarding balance, sharpness, and sword design started taking form. Understanding Jōkotō provides invaluable insight into the katana's evolution, allowing for a fuller appreciation of its craftsmanship and cultural relevance.

Historical Reenactments: For historical enthusiasts and reenactment groups, Dark Blue Katanas provide an authentic experience, helping to bring the past to life. The Habaki is a small accessory that helps secure the katana blade into the saya, as well as keep the tsuba in place. Cosplay and Festivals: Katanas are often part of the costume in cosplaying, especially for characters in anime, manga, or samurai films. They're also used in festivals, often in dance performances or parades. Thus, the creation of a blue katana is a meticulous fusion of passion, expertise, and historical tradition, culminating in a piece that stands as both a functional samurai tool and a stunning work of art. Blue katana meaningHome Décor: A katana can be used as a decorative item, often displayed on a specially designed stand. This use combines appreciation for the sword's aesthetic and historical value. Display Cases: If you prefer a more protected and enclosed display, consider using a display case. These cases can be free-standing or wall-mounted and provide a secure and dust-free environment for your Katana. Carbon Steel katanas inherit the durability and the hardness of the steel material. 1060 Carbon Steel Katanas require more effort to produce. The edge is durable, and the sharpness lasts longer. It is more resistant to corrosion and oxidation and therefore requires less maintenance processing than the 1045 Katanas. Though, it is very important to clean the blade and polish it after every extensive use to ensure the durability and the sharpness, and to keep the edge healthy. 1060 Carbon Steel Katanas are expected to be heavier than those made of 1045 Carbon Steel, because of the steel properties. These Katanas create curves while being forged. This is the property of high and medium Carbon Steels: they keep a certain softness which makes them to develop ideal curvesduring the clay tempering processes and folding operation. The differential hardening and the folding operations, which are meant to harden the blade can increase the weight of the piece; this situation is handled by an aesthetically implanted blood groove that help eliminate the extra weight but keep the resulting spine from the differential Clay Tempering process.
