Metaxa is a Greek amber-coloured spirit created in 1888 by Spyros Metaxa. Officially not brandy or cognac, Metaxa is a blend of Muscat wine and aged brandies (wine distillates) combined in Limousin oak casks. Mediterranean botanicals are added to the finishing process for additional aroma and taste. What Does Metaxa Taste Like? Aged up to 7 years give Metaxa 7 Stars a spirit of distinction. Medium amber colour; floral aromas with hints of orange peel , plums, spice and vanilla; sweet notes on the palate with a long intense finish.

Metaxa Angel’s Treasure (50 years) is the softest and most “silky” of all brandies, a ladies’ version with notes of bitterness resembling citrus peel and chocolate.A slight sweet honey taste with a subtle fruity flavour of apricot, red grape, and spice. Smooth toffee finish. Best Served Metaxa AEN (30–80 years of aging!)—“eternal” (from the Greek word aen) brandy, created for the 120th anniversary of the company. 70-year-old raw materials from the Spyros barrel are also added to it. You will recognize it by a round box, upholstered in natural thin skin of orange color.
